Menovite OÜ operates the Sarah app and withsarah.app. These are the same details Apple publishes for us on the EU App Store.
The deal, in short
A plain-language summary. Not the binding text — the numbered clauses are.
You have to be 18. You talk to Sarah, who is an AI. She picks one person for you and books a table. You don’t browse anyone. If you both say yes, you turn up. If you don’t turn up, there are consequences, because someone else was sitting there waiting. The booking costs €20, and who is charged is set out in clause 8. Be decent to people, and if someone isn’t decent to you, tell us and we’ll act.
1. Sarah is an AI, and here is what that means
Sarah is an artificial intelligence system. Her voice is generated by software. She is not a human matchmaker. There is no person listening to your call in real time. What you say is transcribed and analysed by AI models, including models run by companies outside the EU — the Privacy Policy names them all.
Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires that you be told you are dealing with an AI system. This clause and the Privacy Policy are where we tell you. There is not yet a notice inside the app before a call starts, and Sarah does not announce it out loud unless you ask her. [AI ACT ART. 50(1) — build the in-app disclosure, then rewrite this paragraph to describe it]
Sarah’s spoken voice is synthetic audio generated by our provider. [AI ACT ART. 50(2) — confirm with ElevenLabs whether output carries machine-readable provenance marking, and state the position here]
What Sarah is not. She is not a therapist, a counsellor or a medical service. She is not a background-checking service — we do not run criminal record checks on anyone. She is not a guarantee that you will like the person she picks.
2. Who can use Sarah
- You must be 18 or over.
- One account per person. Your real name, your real face, your own photos.
- At launch we operate in Madrid only.
- Access is limited by a queue, not by invitation. Anyone can sign up. Nobody needs to be invited.
- At launch Sarah introduces men to women and women to men. This is a current limitation of the product, not a statement about who should be able to find someone.
We can refuse or close an account that breaks these rules.
3. Invite codes
Invite codes exist so that we can see which partner, creator or friend sent you. That is all they do. A code does not get you in faster, does not skip the queue, does not unlock anything, and is never required. If anyone tells you otherwise, they’re wrong.
4. How the service works
- You sign up and verify your phone and your face.
- You have a real conversation with Sarah — usually 10 to 15 minutes.
- She builds a picture of you. A member of our team reviews any introduction before it reaches you.
- She picks one person. You do not browse profiles, swipe, or search. There is no feed.
- You each say yes or no. Nobody is told you said no in the way you said it.
- If you both say yes, Sarah picks a venue and books the table. You are told the neighbourhood first and the exact place closer to the time.
- After the date she calls you to ask how it went.
You may be asked, later, whether you are still seeing that person.
5. Conduct — the rules
You must not:
- Be under 18, or arrange to meet anyone you believe is under 18.
- Use Sarah for escorting, prostitution, or any commercial or sexual solicitation.
- Harass, threaten, intimidate or stalk anyone, on a date or afterwards.
- Use photos that are not of you, or misrepresent who you are.
- Upload sexual, violent or otherwise objectionable images.
- Use the service to advertise, recruit, sell, or run any scam.
- Share the other person’s photos, name or anything they told you, outside the date.
- Create more than one account, or come back with a new account after being removed.
Breaking these can mean losing your account with no refund. Anything that suggests a criminal offence goes to the police.
6. Reporting, blocking and moderation
There is a report button on every introduction and every date. You can also write to support@withsarah.app — put URGENT in the subject if you are worried about someone’s immediate safety, and we will read it ahead of everything else.
We review reports within [SAFETY SLA], and reports involving safety first. We may suspend an account while we look at it. Depending on what we find we do nothing, warn, remove content, suspend, or permanently ban.
You are never introduced to the same person twice. Once an introduction has been made, the system rules that person out of your future matches permanently. That is automatic — you don’t have to ask for it, and it doesn’t depend on you reporting anyone. There is no separate block button in the app yet. If you want no further contact with someone, report them and say so, and we act on it by hand. [BLOCK CONTROL — verified 2026-08-18: the permanent exclusion described above is real and unconditional (matching/engine.py excludes both sides of every past Introduction via NOT IN, regardless of outcome), so the FUNCTION of a block already exists. What is missing is only a separately-labelled control, which App Store Review Guideline 1.2 expects for this app category. Founder decision: ship a labelled control, or be ready to point Review at the automatic exclusion.]
If we act against your account and you think we’re wrong, reply to the message we send you. A person will look at it.
7. Turning up, and not turning up
Someone is sitting in a restaurant waiting for you. That is the whole reason these rules are strict.
- Confirm or cancel in good time. If you can’t make it, cancel in the app as early as you can. Cancelling early is fine and costs you nothing beyond the fee position in clause 8.
- The two-hour line. If you cancel less than two hours before the booking, or simply don’t turn up, it counts as a no-show.
- Reporting a no-show. If your date doesn’t appear, tell us in the app.
- Before we refund anyone, we need more than one person’s word: the other person accepting that they didn’t turn up, the restaurant confirming that the table went unused, or the report going undisputed. One account on its own doesn’t move money, in either direction, because it would be too easy to abuse.
- Falsely reporting a no-show is itself a breach of these Terms. We count it.
- Repeated no-shows mean your account is suspended or closed.
- Resting. After an introduction, you won’t automatically get another. When you’re ready for the next one, you ask. We would rather you meet one person properly than be handed a queue.
8. Price and payment
- The reservation fee is €20, VAT included. [CONFIRM VAT TREATMENT AND WHETHER €20 IS GROSS]
- Who pays: where an introduction is between a man and a woman, the fee is charged to the man’s card. We are telling you this because you are entitled to know what you will be charged; it is a structural choice about how we run dates, not a judgement about anyone.
- What it buys: the reservation of a real table at a real restaurant, for the two of you, at a set time. It is a booking service performed in the real world.
- The fee does not pay for your food or drinks. You settle the bill at the restaurant.
- Payment is taken by card or Apple Pay through Stripe. It is not an in-app purchase, because what you’re buying is consumed outside the app — Apple’s own rules require it this way.
- If the restaurant cancels and we can’t rebook you at a time you accept, you get the €20 back in full.
- If your date cancels or doesn’t turn up, see clause 7 — a refund follows a confirmed no-show, not a bare accusation.
- Before you’re charged, you’ll see the total, and the button will say plainly that pressing it means you are paying.
- We’ll email you a confirmation of the booking and the charge.
9. Your 14-day right of withdrawal
As a consumer you have 14 calendar days from entering into the contract to withdraw, without giving a reason and without penalty.
But there is an important exception, and it applies here. When you ask Sarah to book a table, you are asking us to perform the service straight away — often within the 14 days. Under Article 103(a) of the Spanish consumer act (TRLGDCU), you lose the right of withdrawal once we have fully performed a service you expressly asked us to start.
So, before we take your money, you will be asked to tick a box that says, in these words:
“I ask Sarah to make this reservation now, and I understand that once the booking is confirmed I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal.”
It will not be pre-ticked. If you don’t tick it, we don’t book and you aren’t charged. If you tick it and change your mind before the booking is confirmed, you can still withdraw and get your money back. [CHECKBOX NOT BUILT FOR THE €20 DATING FEE — it exists and is enforced for the group booking fee (clause 18): not pre-ticked, and the server refuses the payment without it. The dating side must match before this clause is in force, or the €20 is taken without the acknowledgment this clause promises.]
To withdraw, tell us in any clear statement — write to support@withsarah.app — or use this form:
Model withdrawal form
To: Menovite OÜ, Tartu mnt 67/1 — 13b, 10115 Tallinn, Estonia, support@withsarah.app
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the supply of the following service:
Ordered on: ______ Received on: ______
Name of consumer: ______
Address of consumer: ______
Signature (only if on paper): ______
Date: ______
We refund within 14 days of being told, using the same payment method.
10. Stopping, and deleting
You can stop using Sarah whenever you want. You can pause introductions without deleting anything. You can delete your account from Settings → Privacy → Delete My Account — it takes the same few taps it took to sign up, and it is a real deletion. What that removes, and the few things it doesn’t, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
11. Meeting a stranger
Here is honestly what we do and don’t do.
We do: check your phone number, check that the face in your selfie matches your photos, review every introduction by hand, book a public restaurant, and call you if you don’t show up.
We do not: run criminal background checks, or verify anyone’s job, income, marital status or anything else they told Sarah about themselves.
So: meet in the place we booked, tell a friend where you’re going, keep your own way home, don’t send anyone money, and leave the moment it feels wrong. You don’t owe anybody an explanation, and you won’t be penalised for leaving a date that felt unsafe — tell us instead.
If you are in immediate danger in Spain, call 112.
12. No guarantee
Sarah chooses carefully. She cannot predict chemistry — nobody can, before two people are in a room. We do not promise you a match, a date, a second date, or a relationship. We do not promise a match within any particular time. What we promise is that when she does introduce someone, it is a considered choice reviewed by a person, not an algorithmic shrug.
13. Your content
You keep everything you own. You give us a limited licence to use your photos, recordings, transcripts and messages only to run the service — matching you, showing you to the person you’re introduced to, and keeping people safe.
We will not use your photos, your voice or anything you told Sarah in marketing without asking you separately and getting a yes.
14. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and the service may be interrupted. If we make a change that materially reduces what you get, we’ll tell you first.
We may suspend or terminate your account for breaching these Terms or the conduct rules — see clause 6 for how to challenge that.
15. Our liability
We are liable for loss we cause you by breaking these Terms or by failing to take reasonable care.
We are not liable for the conduct of other users, whether during a date or afterwards, beyond our own obligations to act on reports and to run the safety measures described here. We are not liable for a restaurant’s own acts, or for interruptions we could not reasonably have prevented.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where the law does not allow it — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any liability under mandatory Spanish consumer law. Where any limitation here goes further than the law permits, it applies only as far as the law permits.
16. Complaints and disputes
Write to support@withsarah.app.
If we can’t sort it out, Spanish consumers can go to the consumer arbitration system (Sistema Arbitral de Consumo) or to their regional consumer office. [STATE WHETHER MENOVITE ADHERES TO ANY ADR BODY]
The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform was shut down on 20 July 2025. There is no ODR link to give you.
17. Governing law and where you can sue
These Terms are governed by Estonian law — without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you habitually live. If you live in Spain, Spanish consumer protection applies to you regardless of what this clause says.
You can bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and we can only sue you there.
[AUTHORITATIVE LANGUAGE — state which version governs if the English and Spanish texts diverge. Recommendation: Spanish, for Spanish-resident consumers.]
18. Plans with your friends, and what the booking costs
Sarah will also organise a table for a group of friends. It is a different thing from a date and it is priced differently, so it gets its own clause.
20a. What you pay
- The group booking fee is €2.99, VAT included. [CONFIRM VAT TREATMENT]
- It is once per plan, not per person. Six of you going out costs the same as three.
- Any one of you can pay it. Whoever taps first is the one charged, and the others are told it is covered without being told what it cost them personally, because it cost them nothing.
- What it buys: Sarah finding somewhere that fits what you asked for, ringing restaurants until one says yes, and holding a real table at a real time under a name we give you for the door.
- It does not pay for your food or drinks. You settle the bill at the restaurant, between you.
- You will see the amount before you are charged, and the button will say plainly that pressing it means you are paying.
20b. Starting immediately, and the 14 days
Clause 9 explains the 14-day right of withdrawal and why asking us to perform a service now costs you it. The same applies here, and here the box exists and works:
“I’m asking Sarah to book the table now, and I understand that once it’s booked I lose my 14-day right to withdraw.”
It is not pre-ticked, and the payment is refused without it. Whoever ticks it is the person who pays, which is the person giving up the right — not whoever started the plan.
20c. When you get the money back
- We can’t get you a table — Sarah rings every restaurant that fits and none of them can do it. Refunded in full, automatically, the same evening rather than days later.
- The restaurant cancels on you and we can’t find another for the same time. Refunded in full.
- Everybody leaves the group before the meal. If the table is more than 24 hours away, refunded — releasing it that far out costs the restaurant nothing. Closer in than that, we keep it: the booking was made, somebody still has to ring and cancel it, and the restaurant is left with an empty table on a night it could have sold.
- You simply change your mind and call the plan off before anyone has paid: nothing was taken, so there is nothing to return.
Refunds go back to the card that paid, which may not be yours. Sort that out between yourselves; we can only send it where it came from.
20d. The rules are the same rules
Clause 5 applies inside a group room exactly as it applies anywhere else, and clause 6 is how you report somebody. Leaving a group does not delete what you said in it — the conversation belongs to the people who were in it, and it carries on without you.
Nobody in your groups is ever considered for matching because of it. The friends side and the dating side do not feed each other: who you eat with is not evidence about who you should meet, and we do not use it that way.
19. Apple
You’re getting this app through the App Store. These Terms are between you and Menovite OÜ, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the app or its content, and no obligation to support it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
20. Changes to these Terms
We’ll give you [NOTICE PERIOD] notice of material changes, in the app or by email. If you carry on using Sarah after they take effect, that counts as accepting them. If you don’t want to, delete your account — and if the change affects a booking you have already paid for, we’ll refund it.
